Timber is a natural product and prone to changes in appearance, including some movement, warping and splitting, particularly in extreme weather conditions. This will not affect the structural integrity of the product. This is natural and not covered by any guarantee.
All orders must be paid one week prior to delivery and erection. We accept debit card, credit card (except American express) or cash.
Wood is a natural material and comes with unique characteristics. This results in no two pieces being the same. While we strive to make all sections equal, it is inevitable there may be misalignment from time to time. The product may contain knots and other small details in which are formed throughout the life of the product. These do not affect the structure of the building. These can be filled with a wood filler. After a few years it will settle as it adapts tot he weather.
We use T&G boarding to deter water away from the boarding and allow for any expansion or contraction of the wood. Tongue & grove also helps the board from warping, bowing and splitting. Whilst water shouldn't enter the building, we can not 100% guarantee this with the movement of material. Therefor we recommend guttering to reduce this. To further avoided warping we would advise going for the thickest wood we offer, which is our 20mm loglap.
Adjustments to doors and windows may be required from time to time. This is due to movement of the wood through the seasons. This should settle over time.
Wooden garden buildings can suffer from moisture and damp issues at certain times of the year. Timber is perishable and winter and spring are the main times when there may be a higher level of moisture in the air. The affects of this can be premature rot, mould on interior panels and roof and warping or sagging of the timber. Moisture, caused by damp, wet conditions can get trapped inside sheds, especially if they are not used too often. If the outside temperature drops, any moisture inside the shed will cause condensation on the inside of the shed panels, roof, floor and possibly other items stored in the shed. The condensation will cause mould and mildew to from very quickly. To combat this issue, it is advised to allow the shed to vent as often as possible throughout the winter. This will enable fresh air to circulate around the building and help prevent moisture build up. To do this, you can open doors and windows. It is a good idea not to store wet or damp things in the building, try to dry them out first. If you do get mould forming, it is advised to use a anti-mould cleaner before it penetrates and permanently damage the timber. Use a wood preserver at least once a year both externally and internally to prevent mould growth.
